Looking for some self-care inspo to get you through your time at home? Fitness Expert and Founder of JL ELITE Jenna Douros shares how she resets and recharges.
SFMA: How important is self-care to you?
Douros: My focus on self-care began at a very early age and it’s something I’ve built upon in my adulthood as I became more self-aware. My self-care rituals begin as soon as I wake up and are in-built into my day until the moment I fall asleep.
SFMA: How do you like to nourish yourself?
Douros: I kick off each day with a shot of greens, carnitine, a teaspoon of MCT Oil and fish oil tablets. Once I’ve eaten, I’ll also have CBD Extract and BeGenki BALANCE to help with hormonal balance and stress relief.
SFMA: Top stress-busting fitness activities?
Douros: Outdoor therapy. Spending time outdoors taking in the energy, smells and vibes, and recharging the mind, body and soul with the people (and dogs) I love. Most days, I love to get into the meditative state that I experience during high intensity training.
SFMA: How do you like to unwind?
Douros: One of my go-to methods to help me unwind is to make changes to my environment. By physically changing your location – whether it’s for a moment or permanently – you open your senses up to new experiences, smells, sights and sounds. When I’m in the right environment I’m internally motivated, inspired and obsessed with action.
While current stay-at-home rules prohibit us from going too far, try to exercise outside daily, even if it’s just a quick 30-minute walk around your block.
