Women to watch: Sophie Guidolin

Nutritionist, Personal Trainer, IFBB bikini athlete and mum of four Sophie Guidolin  thrives off organised chaos. STRONG Australia Digital Editor Angelique Tagaroulias sat down with this kick-ass woman to find out how she manages to ‘do it all’.

SFMA: How did you end up in the fitness industry?

Guidolin: I decided I wanted to pursue a career in fitness and nutrition after giving birth. I started fueling my body with the right food and I lost nearly 30 kilos. I discovered the importance of proper nutrition and the positive effect it had on the way that I felt. I decided then that I wanted to help other women to feel the best they can!

SFMA: Why is nutrition so important?

Guidolin: Nutrition is at the centre of our entire body system. It’s largely responsible for our overall health, hormone balance, skin and energy levels. Nutrition truly makes or breaks how you feel.

‘It’s all about balance’

SFMA: Being a working mum of four, it must be hard to find time to take care of yourself. How do you manage your time?

Guidolin: I keep a family diary, which helps to keep us organised as a family. It allows for the workload and the mental load to be distributed, so that responsibility doesn’t always sit with me.

SFMA: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Guidolin: You cannot pour from an empty cup. Make sure your cup is always full.

SFMA: As an influencer with an Instagram following of nearly 400k, social media is obviously a huge part of your life. How do you separate yourself from the world of constantly updated feeds and ‘keep it real’?

Guidolin: I have four kids, so it’s hard not to be grounded. They will quickly bring me back to reality, whether it’s with wiping one of their little butts or blowing a snotty nose.

I’ve also started to block out time in my schedule to spend with my family and friends with no distractions (such as social media), where I am completely present. It’s essential for my sanity.
